Prof. Song Guo (IEEE Fellow)

Biography: Song Guo received his Ph.D. in computer science from University of Ottawa. He is currently a full professor at Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining PolyU, he was a full professor with the University of Aizu, Japan. His research interests are mainly in the areas of big data, edge AI, mobile computing, and distributed systems. Some of his Transactions papers were selected as Featured or Spotlight papers. He is the recipient of the 2019 IEEE TCBD Best Conference Paper Award, 2018 IEEE TCGCC Best Magazine Paper Award, 2019 & 2017 IEEE Systems Journal Annual Best Paper Award, and other 6 Best Paper Awards from IEEE/ACM conferences. His work was also recognized by the 2016 Annual Best of Computing: Notable Books and Articles in Computing in ACM Computing Reviews. Prof. Guo is an IEEE Fellow (Computer Society) and the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society. He was a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and served in the IEEE ComSoc Board of Governors. Prof. Guo has been named on editorial board of a number of prestigious international journals like IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, etc. He has also served as chairs of organizing and technical committees of many international conferences.

 

Prof. Xuemin (Sherman) Shen (IEEE Fellow)

Biography:Xuemin (Sherman) Shen (M’97–SM’02–F’09) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA, in 1990. He is currently a University Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada. His research focuses on network resource management, wireless network security, Internet of Things, 5G and beyond, and vehicular ad hoc and sensor networks. He is a registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, Canada, an Engineering Institute of Canada Fellow, a Canadian Academy of Engineering Fellow, a Royal Society of Canada Fellow, a Chinese Academy of Engineering Foreign Fellow, and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and Communications Society.

Dr. Shen received the R.A. Fessenden Award in 2019 from IEEE, Canada, James Evans Avant Garde Award in 2018 from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, Joseph LoCicero Award in 2015 and Education Award in 2017 from the IEEE Communications Society. He has also received the Excellent Graduate Supervision Award in 2006 and Outstanding Performance Award 5 times from the University of Waterloo and the Premier’s Research Excellence Award (PREA) in 2003 from the Province of Ontario, Canada. He served as the Technical Program Committee Chair/Co-Chair for the IEEE Globecom’16, the IEEE Infocom’14, the IEEE VTC’10 Fall, the IEEE Globecom’07, the Symposia Chair for the IEEE ICC’10, and the Chair for the IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Wireless Communications. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE INTERNET OF THINGS JOURNAL and IEEE Network, and the Vice President on Publications of the IEEE Communications Society.

 

Prof. JiLiang Luo
Huaqiao University, Xiamen, China

Biography: JiLiang Luo received the B.E. and M.S. degrees in Thermal Power Engineering fromNortheast Dianli University, Jilin, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2006. He joined Huaqiao University, Xiamen, China in 2006, and is now a Professor of Control Science and Engineering.  His research interests are in supervisory control of discrete event systems, Petri nets, programmable logic controllers (PLC), intelligent manufacturing systems and robots. He was a visiting researcher in Chiba University from 2009 to 2010, and in New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2015. He is a recipient of Ho-Pan-Qing-Qi Award of 2012 and Asian Journal of Control's Outstanding Reviewer of 2011. He is now IEEE Senior Member.

 

Prof. Chun-Yi Su
Concordia University, Canada

Biography: Dr. Chun-Yi Su is currently a Professor and holder of Concordia University Research Chair’s position. His research covers control theory and its applications to various mechanical systems, with a recent focus on control of systems involving hysteresis nonlinearities. He is the author or co-author of over 200 journal publications. He has been identified as 2019 Highly Cited Researchers from the Web of Science Group. Dr. Su has served as Associate Editor for several journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE RA Society. He served for many conferences as an Organizing Committee Member, including the General Chairs and Program Chairs.

 

Assoc. Prof. Hui Shao
Huaqiao University, China

Biography: Hui Shao received the Ph.D. degree in artificial system science from Chiba University, Chiba, Japan, in 2006. She was a researcher in public works research institute and Chiba University from 2006 to 2011, respectively, in Japan, and a visiting researcher in Newcastle University, England, from 2015 to 2016. She is currently an Associate Professor of Control Science and Engineering, Huaqiao University, Xiamen, China. She research focuses on CNC technique planning, robotics and motion control, Fault detection, complex system modeling and advanced control. She is a recipient of Excellent Paper Award of 2008 by Japan Construction Machinery and Construction Association
